CyberRXN Docs

Quickstart

One connection or one key, then a source-backed chemistry request.

With an assistant

Open the dashboard's connection page, choose ChatGPT or Claude and complete the provider's connector setup. The dashboard provides the public MCP URL and OAuth authorization. Custom-connector availability and approval controls depend on your provider account.

Ask a normal chemistry question, for example:

Find reported preparations of the molecule with SMILES CCN1CCN(CO)C(=O)C1=O. Inspect the original paragraph and distinguish reaction conditions from drying or work-up.

The connected agent should read get_reaction_skill, search a small number of observations, and fetch the selected full observation. You do not need to name CyberRXN in every question. Tool selection remains the model's decision; the MCP guide explains compatibility.

With the API

Create a key in API keys. Keep it on your server or in a private environment variable. Supply it as a Bearer token:

curl https://api.cyberrxn.com/v1/molecules/reactions -H "Authorization: Bearer $CYBERRXN_API_KEY" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' --data '{"smiles":"CCN1CCN(CO)C(=O)C1=O","role":"product","limit":3}'

Use an observation_id from items with GET /v1/observations/{observation_id}. A patent number, source UID and observation ID are different identifiers.

Run a chemistry check

curl https://api.cyberrxn.com/v1/chemistry/validate -H "Authorization: Bearer $CYBERRXN_API_KEY" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' --data '{"reaction_smiles":"CCO>>CC=O","mode":"strict"}'

This equation loses two H atoms. Expect a successful HTTP response containing valid: false and conservation diagnostics. That is a computed scientific result, not a network failure.

Each successful metered operation uses one call. Guide reads, feedback submission and feedback-status reads are non-billable. Usage and bonuses explain the counters.
